MR Safety Pad

The new standard of safety

MR Safety Pad

Dedicated pads to easily reduce the risk of RF-induced burns caused by "near field"/proximity effect or by formation of conductive tissue loops.

Co-developed with Dr. Frank Shellock.

Reliable protection from burns

The pads stop conduction loops between limbs, the gantry, or cables – even for large patients and small bores.

Easy to use

Thanks to a smooth outer surface, the pads glide easily along the gantry.

Perfectly hygienic

The easily disinfectable surface favours the safety and well-being of the patient.

MR Safety Angel Pad

The new Standard of Safety

Reduce the risk of RF-induced burns from touching the bore of the MR system.

Fits any MRI Scanner

Compatible with all MRIs with 60-70 cm diameter bore size. The width is adjustable using the black velcro patches.

ProFoam Plate

Reduce the risk of conductive tissue loops

The ProFoam Plates fit between the limbs, avoiding skin-to-skin contact.

ACR Manual on MR Safety

Suits the Safety Guidelines

The American College of Radiology states the following in its manual:

ACR-Manual

American College of Radiology. (2024). ACR Manual on MR Safety. Retrieved from https://www.acr.org/-/media/ACR/Files/Clinical/Radiology-Safety/Manual-on-MR-Safety.pdf

“It is important to emphasize that insulating pads are necessary; a single-layer bedsheet is insufficient insulation or spacing to prevent burns.”
(Page 64)
“Attention to the physical condition of insulating padding is recommended, as with time, pads can degrade and become overly compressible"
(Page 64)
“Insulation and appropriate distance should be placed between the patient and any external conductive material, including the bore wall.”
(Page 68)

ProFoam Plate 100x25x1 DSR

This MR Safety Pad, with dimensions of 100x25x1cm, avoids direct patient contact with the gantry and thus reduces the risk of burns.

ProFoam MR Safety Angel Pad

The two connected wings on the sides prevent direct contact with the gantry. The MR Safety Angel Pad can be placed under the table mat and thus remains in position.
